(no dust jacket, as issued) [light external soiling; internally unblemished]. (B&W and color photographs) SIGNED on the title/limitation page by Elton John and (apparently) Bernie Taupin. [I have *not* confirmed the latter signature.] "This book is a souvenir of ELTON JOHN's concert appearances at Doug Weston's Troubadour, August 25-27, 1975, commemorating the fifth anniversary of his American debut at the club." Affixed to the front endpaper with a strip of tape is the card for admission to the August 26, 1975 concert, "A Benefit Performance for The Jules Stein Eye Institute at U.C.L.A." The book is packed with great photos of young Elton, on and off stage, and the text (by Robert Hilburn, then settling in for a long tenure as the principal rock music critic for the L.A. Times) is much more than the usual tribute-book puffery. Hilburn started writing for the Times the same year that Elton debuted at the Troubadour, in fact, and later accompanied him on his famous tour of the Soviet Union in 1979. Signed by Biographee
