[mild edgewear, slight dog-earing to upper corners, mild creases in a couple of pages]. Trade PB (cartoon illustrations) INSCRIBED and SIGNED by the author on the ffep. "The City" of the title (although nothing about the book's design betrays this fact) is Los Angeles, and although this book -- the author's first -- has long since ceased to have much practical value, it is an absolutely wonderful snapshot of L.A. in the early 1970's, giving a long-time resident's lowdown on the local traffic, crime, culture, shopping, recreation, pollution, earthquakes, etc. There's even a chapter on "How to Survive Women's Liberation in L.A."!
