1 Browne, Gerald A. 11 Harrowhouse
New York Arbor House (c.1972) 0-87795-024-5 / 9780877950240 First Edition Hardcover Near Fine in Very Good+ dj Illustrated by (dj design) Paul Bacon
(price-clipped) [nice tight copy, appears unread, light dust-soiling to top edge but no significant wear; jacket lightly scuffed, a few tiny closed tears along top edge; also includes wrap-around promotional band, the spine area of which is lightly browned and has one tiny nick in the top edge]. "Authentically grounded in the secret operations of the world's most lucrative and least-known cartel, here is a novel in the Hitchcock tradition of high adventure, romance and suspense, a story combining an ingenious Rififi-like theft with an ensuing chase that moves across many of the more exotic faces of Europe." The 1974 film adaptation was written by, and starred, Charles Grodin, with a supporting cast that included James Mason, Trevor Howard and John Gielgud. (Wow, Grodin must have had some *juice* at the time.) Includes wrap-around promotional band with laudatory quote from L.A. Times literary critic Robert Kirsch.

2 Browne, Gerald A. It's All Zoo
Garden City NY Doubleday & Co. 1968 First Edition Hardcover Very Good in Near Fine dj Illustrated by (dj design) Milton Glaser
[good solid copy, book appears Near Fine until you peek under the jacket and see that there has been fading to the green cloth (from dampness) along the edges of both covers -- NOT "water-damaged," since the interior of the book is completely unaffected and there is no warping or other damage to the covers (believe me, leave the jacket on and you'll never notice it); the jacket itself is clean and bright, with just some minimal edgewear]. Scarce novel (the author's first) about young Americans (of the "now" generation) in Paris. "Lillian was a beautiful, groovy bird in today's mod-hippy Paris. She did all the rave things: attended Destructivist art shows, painted protest signs on Paris Police stations, rolled joints for pot-loving boyfriends, wore vinyl raincoats with nothing underneath. Lillian was a swinger. Lillian never blew her cool -- until she met the square, of all things, who became her bag. She managed to keep her cool (well, almost!) through it all, but she was shaken right down to the foundations of her wonderful little mod-hippy philosophy."
