1 Wellman, William A. A Short Time for Insanity: An Autobiography [*SIGNED*]
New York Hawthorn Books, Inc. (c.1974) First Edition Hardcover Very Good in Very Good dj Illustrated by (dj design) Mark Rubin Design Signed by Author
[moderately worn copy, some light soiling and faint foxing to page edges; jacket stained internally along top edge, but this is not visible in any way from the exterior, which shows only a bit of wear at the corners and some scuffing/rubbing to the surface]. (B&W photographs) SIGNED by the author (signature only; no inscription) on the half-title page. "From the perspective of a hospital bed, through a drug-induced haze, Wellman's memory makes connections between events in life that his rational mind would never perceive." Further proof that they didn't call him "Wild Bill" for nothing. The best thing possible would be, before reading this book, to take a look at the filmed interview with Wellman done by Richard Schickel for the PBS series "The Men Who Made the Movies," just to get a fix on the director's personality.
