Evers, Helen & Alf The Merry Mouse
New York Farrar & Rinehart (c.1936) Presumed 1st Hardcover Fair
(paper-covered boards, no dust jacket) [worn at corners (boards a little exposed), spine externally reinforced with masking tape (I didn't do it!), some markings on rear cover, one-time owner's name on half-title page]. Starts out with "Hickory, dickory, dock," but soon veers away from that old standard to narrate the exploits of a lonely little mouse. Like all of these authors' early books, this one is quite scarce.
