Final novel in the author's "Muskhogean County" trilogy, about African-American life in a small Georgia town, preceded by "Appalachee Red" (1978) and "Rosiebelle Lee Wildcat Tennessee" (1980). We first met this book's title character in the first installment, as the put-upon wife of Red; this novel deals with her life after "The Day" in 1963 when she lost Red forever.
