1 Traven, B. The Treasure of the Sierra Madre
New York Alfred A. Knopf 1935 NO 2nd printing Hardcover Very Good
(no dust jacket) [light shelfwear to bottom edge, tiny light stain at lower right edge of front cover, gilt spine lettering partially rubbed away; binding is solid, hinges intact] Outstanding novel by the enigmatic German-born author who spent most of his life (and did most of his writing) in Mexico; the basis for the memorable 1948 John Huston film, with Humphrey Bogart, Walter Huston and (especially) Tim Holt turning in some of the best performances of their careers -- in Huston's case, garnering him his only Academy Award (Best Supporting Actor).
