1 Baker, James Robert Fuel-Injected Dreams
New York E.P. Dutton (c.1986) 0-525-24417-4 / 9780525244172 First Edition Hardcover Near Fine in Near Fine dj Illustrated by (dj design) James Wang
[nice tight copy, both book and jacket show only minor handling wear]. The late author's first novel, a "gothic, intense and erotic" tale of an L.A. disc jockey who becomes drawn into the world of Dennis Contrelle, a brilliant rock composer of the '60s and '70s who has subsequently become " a recluse in a world guarded by high walls and savage servants." (The usual disclaimers aside, Phil Spector is said to have been the inspiration for Contrelle. I couldn't possibly comment.)

New York Penguin Books 1994 (c.1993) 0-14-023493-4 / 9780140234930 First printing Softcover Near Fine Signed by Author
[small tear at top left corner of front cover (at hinge); otherwise clean, appears unread]. Trade PB SIGNED by the author on the title page. "A harrowing odyssey through the neon wilderness of post-riot, post-AIDS Los Angeles -- a freewheeling symposium on themes of sex, art, homophobia, and radical gay terrorism -- a novel that reads like a collaboration between Larry Kramer and William Burroughs, scored with the music of Sonic Youth and Lou Reed." The last of this author's novels to be published during his lifetime (he committed suicide in 1997), and especially uncommon signed. Signed by Author
