Barzman, Ben Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star
New York G.P. Putnam's Sons (c.1960) First American Edition Hardcover Very Good in Very Good- dj Illustrated by (dj design) Ben Feder, Inc.
[bottom corners lightly bumped, a bit of soiling to bottom of text block, paper-clip marks at top of ffep and title page; jacket edgeworn, small tears at most corners, a couple of other small edge-tears and associated creasing]. Science-fiction novel, a "romantic comedy of errors" about visitors to Earth from its twin planet, that satirizes and ridicules the nuclear arms race; Thorne Smith and Leonard Wibberley are evoked in the jacket copy. The author spent most of the 1950s in Europe after having been blacklisted in Hollywood -- a fact rather smoothly elided by his jacket bio, which states that "a short holiday in France for Mr. and Mrs. Barzman extended itself into ten years, five children and a dozen films." Originally published in England as "Out of this World" (Collins, 1960); subsequently issued in paperback under the title "Echo X."
