1 Ford, Bryant (pseud. for Michael Blankfort) Show Business: A Mystery Novel
New York Dodd, Mead & Company 1939 First Edition Hardcover Very Good
(no dust jacket) [light shelfwear, very slight fraying to bottom corners, light soiling to yellow cloth covers, spotting to top page edges, one-time owner's name and address at top of ffep]. A "Red Badge Detective" novel, a murder mystery set in New York's theatrical world. When Broadway's most successful producer (who is also the "best hated man in show business") is stabbed to death, suspicion naturally falls on his press-agent -- who admittedly didn't like the guy, but also happens to have what looks like a perfect alibi. The author was better known as a screenwriter under his own name, Michael Blankfort; this was his only novel using the Ford pseudonym.
