Autobiography of the erstwhile song-and-dance man, sidekick and comic foil, who was a little bit too gangly and goofy-looking to ever achieve major stardom, but is nonetheless etched forever in memory (well, my memory, anyway) as "Uncle Jed" on "The Beverly Hillbillies." Quite a bit is made of his having lost the role of the Tin Man in THE WIZARD OF OZ, but honestly it doesn't seem to have hurt his career any; and quick, name anything else that Jack Haley was ever in.
