New York Longmans, Green and Co. 1935 NO Book Union Edition Hardcover Very Good+ in Very Good dj Illustrated by (dj) "FM" 
(price-clipped) [attractive copy, light dust-soiling to top edge but only minor shelfwear, very slight fading to cloth at exposed edges, clean inside and out; jacket has some shallow chipping along the top edge, another small chip at bottom of rear panel, light scuffing to rear panel]. The author's second novel, about life in a North Carolina mill town; a major work of proletarian fiction, and one of many novels inspired by the Gastonia textile mill strike of 1929. Hanna 907; cited in Rideout. Scarce in dust jacket.
