(B&W photographs, drawings) The Hungarian author, at the age of 13, in 1944, along with his mother and brothers, was forced by the Nazis to embark upon a forced march to a concentration camp at Mauthausen, in Austria; later they wound up at Auschwitz. "Numerous members of his family perished in the slave-labor and extermination camps, including his father, mother and elder brother."
