Paver, Chaver (Gershon Einbinder) Clinton Street and Other Stories (translated from the Yiddish by Henry Goodman) New York YKUF Publishers (c.1974) NOISBN Presumed 1st Hardcover Very Good+ (no dust jacket, possibly as issued) [good tight clean copy, mild shelfwear, lightly bumped at corners and spine ends]. The author, a native of Bessarabia, emigrated to the U.S. in 1924, as the age of 23. "He lived in New York and later in Los Angeles, where he died in 1964, before his sixty-third birthday. He made his debut in Yiddish literature in the middle twenties as a writer of stories for children. The first two volumes of his children's stories appeared in 1925. Although he continued writing for children (5 volumes of stories and about a score of children's plays, which were never published), the bulk of his literary works, 10 volumes, were stories and novels for adults. The present volume, published on the tenth anniversary of his death, is a representative collection of four decades of his literary work." Price:
