Steuber, William F., Jr. Us Incorporated Indianapolis/New York The Bobbs-Merrill Company (c.1953) NO First Edition Hardcover Very Good+ in Very Good dj (price-clipped) [solid copy, light shelfwear to bottom edge and corners, top edge a little dust-soiled, bookseller's rubber-stamped name on front pastedown; jacket shows general light wear and some uneven fading (mostly at spine), a few tiny closed tears, very slight paper loss at spine ends]. The Wisconsin author's first book, a nostalgic look at the zany small-town summertime adventures and enterprises of a 12-year-old boy, Page Kester. (Beyond being set in "the Midwest," the book is geographically unspecific, although reviewers have suggested both Illinois and Michigan as its locale.) The book's title derives from the fact that Page fancies himself an inventor, and at the suggestion of his friend Eddie they set up the World Wide Corporation of America as an umbrella for whatever their fevered adolescent brains can cook up.
