(line drawings) A mere thirteen years after India's emancipation from the British Empire came this "fascinating glimpse of the heritage (in the form of social, economic, traditional and linguistic legacies) which the India of to-day 'enjoys.'" -- all the influences, "useful, appealing or, in a few cases, pathetic, of an imperial way of life that has gone for ever." Is there such a word as Rajstalgia, or did I just make it up?
