Described by its author as "a two-hour entertainment [about] the thirty-seventh President's career, using his own words--and those of others." True to the spirit of proper credit attribution, the "co-authors" listed on the title page are Nixon himself, Gloria Steinem, George Washington, John F. Kennedy, Thelma (Pat) Nixon, Nikita Khrushchev, Dwight D. Eisenhower, Spiro T. Agnew, Hannah Milhous Nixon, Lyndon B. Johnson, Lt. William Calley Jr., Hubert H. Humphrey, Martha Mitchell, Jerry Voorhis, Helen Gahagan Douglas, Harry S Truman, Adlai Stevenson, Murray Chotiner, Patricia (Tricia) Nixon, Howard K. Smith,etc. The dedication is "For J. Edgar Hoover and Clyde Tolson, With Appreciation." Oh, life would be so much duller without Gore Vidal! [Also includes original Fireside Theatre book club flyer, laid in].

[nice tight copy, moderate edgewear but appears unread, a couple of soft creases in front cover, some surface-scratching to rear cover]. Mass Market PB (photo covers) Vidal's screwball comedy/satire about an alien visitor to Earth, adapted from his original TV play. Although this is the tie-in for the movie version (transformed magically into a vehicle for star Jerry Lewis), it is still the text of the play. (Probably just as well, as I'm pretty sure the author disowned the movie (screenplayed by other hands) at some point.)

[good solid copy, but with rather a severe dent at bottom rear cover; jacket rubbed, some wear at corners, a bit of paper loss at both ends of spine]. (B&W photographs) Vidal's screwball comedy/satire about an alien visitor to Earth, adapted this from his original TV play. Subsequently filmed in 1960, remaining (as I remember) a fairly funny romp despite its transformation into a Jerry Lewis vehicle. (++)
