[both book and jacket are as-new, with no discernible wear or blemishes]. (B&W photographs) Anecdotal memoir by a veteran movie and TV character actor, whose claim to cinematic immortality rests on his starring role in Ed Wood's PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE, legendarily "the worst film ever made." Walcott devotes a chapter -- a whole four pages! -- to the making of PLAN 9, which doesn't sound like much until you consider that almost all the other chapters in the book are even shorter (two pages is the average). In fact, even calling them "chapters" seems a bit much: about half of them are titled with simply the name of an actor he once worked with ("Montgomery Clift," "Gregory Peck," "Elizabeth Taylor," "Clint Eastwood," etc. etc.) and about whom he therefore has a (brief) story to tell. Laid in to the book is a letter from Walcott to the book editor of the Los Angeles Times, accompanied with a photocopy of a 2000 article about him from the Times.
