Or, to put in another way, one of the numerous knock-offs of "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" that started appearing in the late 1920's in the wake of the success of that Anita Loos book. This one is at least enlivened by some amusing cartoon drawings of the flapper protagonist, somewhat in the style of John Held Jr. The prose gimmick here (apart from the predictable and somewhat tedious malapropisms) seems to be the use of eccentrically-placed capital letters, e.g. "WELL, my dear, I NEARly colLAPSED at this DINner party that Clyde proceeded to give at this point..."
