[red cloth cover a little "chewed" at bottom rear, and there is some water-fading along the spine (although this "water-damage" does not affect the interior, and the pages are no more yellowed than is usual for this sort of cheaply-produced juvenile book); the jacket has a little foxing, and is missing a 1/2" triangular piece at the top of the spine ( the book's title is all there, however), and is considerably edge- and corner-worn in other places. [The jacket itself is somewhat curious, in that it does not depict any sort of baseball scene, but rather is a silhouette of two boys, against the background of what appears to be a ruined castle, also in silhouette; I suspect this is a generic jacket design for the "Outdoor Series," which is referenced nowhere in the book itself.] (frontispiece drawing only)
