[nice clean copy, no discernible wear]. 40-page booklet (including covers; text is 30 pages, with ads taking up the rest of the space), issued to protest the presentation of an honorary Academy Award to Elia Kazan in 1999. Kazan, whose gifts as a filmmaker were and are unquestioned, had nonetheless long been a political lightning rod due to his decision to "inform" on former Communist Party colleagues during the McCarthy Era. The Academy's decision to bestow the award on Kazan proved, if nothing else, that passions still run deep on this issue, even after nearly half a century.
