(no dust jacket) [worn book, bumping to all corners, front hinge cracked, binding loose, soiling/spotting to front cover, cloth somewhat faded at spine, etc.; it's readable, but don't expect more than that or you'll be disappointed] (B&W line drawings; frontispiece + 2 others) Historical adventure fiction, pretty well described by that lengthy subtitle. This copy of the book is of minor "Hollywood" interest, as it is stamped "Important! Return to Warner Bros. Pictures, Inc. Story Dept." on the ffep; also, on the front pastedown is written (in two versions, in different hands) the information that the book was once the property of the author's "personal representative," one Adelaide Wise Brown of Denver, Colorado. (Despite the Warner Bros. stamp, I find no evidence that this book was ever made into a movie.)
