[a very nice copy, tight and clean with virtually no wear, unmarked except for a one-time owner's signature on the front pastedown; jacket is bright and attractive despite a showing a little wear along the top edge, and some light soiling to the rear panel]. (B&W photographs, illustrated endpapers) Fantastically upbeat travel book issued just a few months prior to Pearl Harbor, noting that "now that Europe is closed to tourists, more and more Americans will be booking passage by clipper and boat for the playground of the Caribbean!" Chapter V, "Dawn's Early Light," discusses Havana's night life: nightclubs, dance-halls, casinos, etc. And with the recent re-opening of Cuba-U.S. relations, who's to say this book might not still be kinda useful even today? (I mean, after all, I'm sure some of the cars that were on their streets in 1941 are still running! Although I wouldn't bet on the casinos, no pun intended.)
