[lovely copy, no discernible wear to book at all; the slightest bit of wrinkling to jacket at top edge of front panel]. (B&W and color photographs) The author "explores the area's rich history -- from the early days of the dons to the era of the 'Home of the Peach,' to the recent years so dramatically influenced by the entertainment industry." Although truly a local history, a substantial part of the book is of course devoted to Universal Pictures, which first set up shop in the Cahuenga Pass in 1912 and opened Universal City itself three years later.
