[ex-rental library book, worn but not excessively so, with staining to endpapers, rubber-stamped library info (Hanna Libraries, Cleveland, Ohio) on front pastedown, various other signs of its previous life; the jacket is kind of a mess, trimmed a little at top and bottom edges, securely glued down at flaps, with gunky black residue along the top and bottom edges from the (now removed) old jacket protector; on the plus side, however, the front panel illustration is for the most part unblemished]. Novel about a woman who breaks free from "fourteen years of the boss's orders [and] of neat rooming houses and cheap meals" by cashing out all her savings and hitting the road in her own car. "Adventure she found, and romance, too, as you'll soon discover when you read this highly diverting, often tender and moving story of a quiet little secretary who knew what she wanted -- even though she didn't know how to get it, or quite what to do with it after she had it."
