[light shelfwear, bottom corners a little bumped, a bit of spotting/soiling to top edge of text block; jacket a bit edgeworn, tiny nicks at a couple of corners, visible wear at spine ends]. Non-fiction account of a notorious four-day "encounter group" session involving management executives from an international cosmetics distribution company called Holiday Magic, conducted at a motel in Palo Alto, California. The book revealed that these people (including co-author Church), as part of a course conducted by the "Leadership Dynamics Institute," had been "virtually imprisoned" during this event, and "in the interest of being sensitized to become better salesmen and leaders were beaten, whipped, jammed into coffins, forced to perform unnatural sex acts and, in several cases, crucified." (And you thought "Glengarry Glen Ross" was brutal!) The book served as the basis for the 1983 movie CIRCLE OF POWER (aka THE NAKED WEEKEND), and has been frequently cited in academic analyses of encounter groups and large group awareness training.
