[clean copy, some stress marks along spine, slight bumping to upper right corner, some finger-creasing and light scuffing to rear cover]. (B&W photographs) Program/tribute book, largely photographic, but also including a group of short appreciations of Poiter by Harry Belafonte, John Singleton, Stanley Kramer, and Sydney Poitier (the honoree's daughter), as well as a reminiscence by Poitier himself (adapted from a previously published book). Includes a filmography with basic credits, and (because this was the 20th anniversary of the award, and the AFI being the relentlessly self-promoting organization it is) a 2-page list of "initiatives and selected highlights" from AFI history, followed by two more pages of tiny-font lists of the organization's benefactors and sponsors. (Interesting to note, admidst all the present-day discussions of diversity in the film industry, that to date Poitier and Morgan Freeman are the only two African-Americans to have received the AFI Life Achievement Award, out of 44 that have been presented.)
