[nice clean copy, minor handling wear only]. Trade PB (line drawings by Joe Calcagno) I'd call this a "weird cultural artifact," but honestly I'm not even entirely sure what "culture" it would be an artifact of -- it's a little too late for the height of the Sexual Revolution (whenever THAT was) and its long, long aftermath. (Perhaps future historians will refer to it as the Sexual Reconstruction.) At any rate, it's about equal parts oddball-hilarious and seriously cringeworthy, with chapter titles like "Nobody Loves a Fat Nymphomaniac (Salads)" and "What To Do With the Good Lays (The Many Ways to Prepare Eggs)." There's quite a lot of booze involved, too, especially in the chapter "The Drinking Woman's Guide (For the Amateur Mixologist)"; also includes an aphrodisiac food directory, which essentially claims that most any kind of food "has a reputation as" or is "believed to be" a sexual stimulant. From the author's introduction: "There has long been a need for a book that would contain nutritious diets for the active woman. One that would present good and tasty food with a minimum of preparation. When a girl throws a party, there comes a period when the guests need something for their flagging spirits. But the true nymphomaniac hasn't the time or the inclination to spend hours shopping, and preparing good, then using additional time over a hot stove. She is more interested in the heat of her partners than the oven." If you say so, H.
