[nice clean book with faint shelfwear; jacket lightly soiled (mostly to rear panel), tiny chip at top of spine]. (cartoon line drawings) "Here's to you, the girl you know yourself to be and want to be!" The author, a former Powers model and a director of the Powers School, headlined a syndicated newspaper column called "A Lovelier You," and was also co-author (with John Robert Powers himself) of the classic "Secrets of Charm." Here she offers a guide to "how to make the most of yourself," a book that's "filled to the brim with helpful and thoroughly professional advice [on] every imaginable [subject], from taking a beauty bath to taking a date in your stride." All the tips in the world won't matter, though, if you neglect to master "Teenliness," which is covered in a short but vitally important chapter near the end of the book, immediately preceding the Grooming Calendar and the Calorie Counter. An artifact of a vanished culture.
