[just a touch of shelfwear, spine very slightly turned; jacket shows minor surface- and edge-wear, small chip at top of spine]. (B&W photographs) Autobiography of "the long-legged girl from Houston, Texas, who was born into a psychic family and came to Hollywood to make good." And make good she did, brightening up every movie she appeared in from the mid-1930s through the mid-1950s, after which she stayed busy in TV and theatre. Then she kind of became famous all over again, starting in the late 1960s with a Broadway turn in "Mame," followed up by her famous soup commercial, the release of the "That's Entertainment" films, and her success (with Mickey Rooney) in the 1979 stage musical "Sugar Babies."
