(price-clipped) [heavily bumped at base of spine, light discoloration to bottom of front and rear boards adjacent to spine, ex-company library copy (see notes); jacket moderately edgeworn, some surface rubbing, a bit of uneven fading to rear panel, tiny chip at left top of front panel]. (cartoon illustrations) A selection of Addams's work from The New Yorker, with original publication dates ranging from 1940 to 1947. The cover illustration notwithstanding, only about one-sixth of the one hundred or so cartoons in the book feature the actual creepy/kooky/mysterious/spooky/altogether ooky "Addams Family" as we've come to know them. This copy has an interesting provenance: it's internally stamped in a number of places as once having been part of the reference library at UPA Pictures, the company that rose to prominence in the 1950s with creations such as Mister Magoo and Gerald McBoing-Boing. (There are no external library markings, though.)
