[very slight bump to bottom corner of rear cover, no other significant wear]. (color art reproductions) Catalogue of the "lifework masterpiece" of 18th-century Japanese painter Ito Jakuchu, in the form of 30 scrolls that were originally given to a temple in Kyoto by the artist himself, and subsequently presented to the Japanese Imperial household in 1889. They were originally restored in 1911, but another restoration project was deemed necessary, and was undertaken from 1999 to 2005. "This report is edited to widely introduce Doshoku Sai-e to the public, and to introduce the skillful depictive expressions by Jakuchu newly discovered through its restoration."
